Tallaght Stadium North Stand Opening

by | Feb 28, 2024

Friday 9th of February was a big day for Tallaght Stadium, hosting not only the final match of the President’s Cup but also the opening of the new North Stand.

This new development will accommodate an additional 2,500 capacity, maintaining the stadium’s UEFA Category 4 with a capacity of 10,000 spectators. Alongside the development of the New North Stand, work was also carried out on re-modelling the corporate and hospitality areas of the West Stand, and enhancing the changing facilities accessible seating in the South Stand. The works on the West Stand consisted of refurbishing and altering the Ground and First floors to upgrade corporate and Media facilities, as well as modifying the Central Seating Area. This work was completed to a high engineering Sustainability standard, achieving a BER Rating of A3 for the North Stand. The new North Stand will allow Tallaght Stadium the possibility of being able to host future European games, including group games for the Champions league or Europa league.

JV Tierney & Co. are thrilled to have provided the Mechanical, Electrical & Sustainable Design Services for South Dublin County Council & Tallaght Stadium on this project, working alongside Cooney Architects, DBFL Consulting Engineers Ltd., and Box Architecture and other members of the design team to deliver a truly exciting addition to the stadium.

Congratulations to South Dublin County Council, Tallaght Stadium Management & Facilities Team, Cooney Architects, and ABM Contractors Ltd main Contractor for a job well done and providing great photos of the new North Stand.
