Brand New North Stand to seat 2,500 Attendees, with Refurbishments to the Existing West Stand

The works at Tallaght Stadium comprised of the development of a brand new North Stand with a capacity of 2,500 people, and refurbishment and alterations to the existing West Stand.

The works on the North Stand include covered universal accessible seating above pitch level, with an overall footprint area of 1,700m² and an associated enclosed ancillary floor area of 860m². This enclosed area comprises of a ground floor undercroft unit and concessions, toilets, and plant / service areas at ground and first floor levels.

The works to the existing West Stand and associated accommodation include the refurbishment and alterations to upgrade accommodations at round and first floors, and the modification of the central seating area. There was no increase in floor area or building volume due to these works.

JV Tierney & Co. provided the Mechanical, Electrical, and Sustainable Design Services for this development, including:

• Sustainable design throughout all services, resulting in BER Rating of A2 for the North Stand.
• Electrical services to the new North Stand and the refurbished accommodation areas of the West Stand.
• Site services cabling for interconnection of the North and West Stands electrical and ICT services, as specified to the existing stadium’s electrical and ICT networks.
• New plant room including connection heat pumps, Low Pressure Hot Water (LPHW) circuit piping, circulating pumps, pressurisation and degassing units, expansion vessels, cold water break tanks, and a Building Management System (BMS) to cover the above and associated controls for all specified systems to the North Stand.
• Domestic hot, cold, hot water return and mains water system comprising piping from cold water storage tanks, under-sink water heaters, supplies to fixtures, and external pre-insulated WRAS approved pipework.
• Mechanical ventilation system coupled with mechanical heat recovery system for the office fit out of the North Stand.
• Extract and supply for the commercial kitchen in the West Stand.
• Ventilation mix of natural ventilation and mechanical ventilation where applicable.
• Complete BIM (Building Information Modelling) production and coordination works.
• CAT A Fit out of Shamrock Rover’s offices as part of the works.
