St. Vincent’s University Hospital is a major academic teaching hospital in Dublin 4, affiliated to University College Dublin.  St. Vincent’s University Hospital is a member of the St. Vincent’s’ Healthcare Group. The entire project was built within the grounds of the existing “Live” Hospital. The Hospital is designed to provide the highest standards of Healthcare to both private and public patients.

Development also included a 5-storey Clinical Building, a 52 bedded Acute Psychiatry Unit, National Breast Screening Facility, Extensions to Pharmacy & Mortuary Buildings, New Waste Marshalling Yard & Multi-Storey Car Park.  Laboratories in the building include University of Dublin Genome Lab, Ultrasounds / Fluoroscopy, Angiography, Histology, Molecular MDL, Immunology, Microbiology, Endocrine / Metabolic / Nuclear Medicine, Chemical Pathology Department, Haematology, Blood Transfusion, Radiology.

JV Tierney & Co. provided the detailed design of Mechanical, Electrical, Sustainability and Transport Services, including:

  • High Efficiency Lighting
  • Heat Recovery
  • Solar Reflective Glazing
  • Building Management System (BMS)
  • Weather Compensation Controls
  • Variable Speed Control Motors & Pumps
  • Transition of Works within “Live” Hospital Environment
