Winner – Best Contribution to Urban Design – RIAI Awards 2004

This landmark development in the heart of Dublin City involved the re-development and extension of Roches Stores Department Store, which was then rented by Debenhams. This development, with an overall area of 21,500m² and located on Ireland’s busiest shopping street, was the flagship store for the Roches Stores Retail Group. The works consisted of integrating three separate buildings into one superstore.  Two additional floors were added to the existing four floors and interconnecting spine walls were removed to create an open plan store with a large central atrium for circulation.  The store continued to trade throughout requiring works in sensitive areas to be scheduled out of hours to keep service shutdowns to a minimum.
