The 3,700m² project involved extensive refurbishment and upgrade works to the Sports Centre, including the provision of new gym, fitness studios, spinning, cardio, beginner’s area, associated changing facilities, crèche, office facilities and relocation of the existing café.

The main changes include:

• Installation of a new gas fired CHP Plant
• Redesign of the existing swimming pool ventilation ductwork layout to facilitate installation of new services
• Installation of new air handling plant, ventilation ductwork, grilles etc. to serve the new gym, fitness studios, café, crèche and changing rooms
• Upgrade of existing poolside changing rooms ventilation system
• Upgrade of heating system serving poolside corridor
• New split AC systems serving the new facilities
• Wiring of new AV and specialist lighting systems
• Building Energy Management System Update
• Linking of all new services into the new upgraded BMS system
