The new Surgical Hub at the Mount Carmel Community Hospital in Dublin has officially opened. The Surgical Hub at Mount Carmel is the first of six new surgical hubs being opened across: Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Waterford and Galway. These new healthcare facilities will provide approximately 30,000 appointments every year, keeping people out of acute hospitals. The new Surgical Hub will handle day cases, minor surgeries and pain relief for patients.
JV Tierney were delighted to provide the mechanical, electrical and sustainable technical advisory design team services for this state-of-the-art new Surgical Hub at Mount Carmel. This project was completed to the highest levels of sustainability, making use of: Mechanical Ventilation Heat Recovery Systems and Air Handling Units in operating theatres to deliver precise heating and cooling to meet surgical air quality standards. A new plantroom was provided with provisions for future Air Source Heat Pumps to reduce the carbon emissions on the site.
