The development of this greenfield site has just got under way. The New Carrick-on-Shannon 90-Bed Community Nursing Unit (CNU) will be a state-of-the-art healthcare facility and will play a vital role in serving the community’s needs. This project represents a meaningful contribution to the local healthcare infrastructure, and the design team is proud to be part of its development.
JV Tierney’s are providing Mechanical, Electrical, Vertical Transport, and Sustainability engineering. This “electrified building” has been designed in accordance with the latest energy efficient technologies available to the market including Air Source Heat Pumps, natural ventilation approach of occupied spaces, lighting controls consisting of energy saving systems such as: absence detection and dimming function, motion sensors, daylight harvesting and photocells. This will be a Near Zero Energy Building with compliance analysis modelling having been carried out using IES software. In line with the HSE Climate Action Plan Targets, all heat generating plant in the building will be electrically powered.
