Central Plaza, Dame Street, Dublin 2

by | Apr 13, 2023

Hines/Peterson Property Group and Henry J. Lyons Architects led the redevelopment of Dublin’s 21,500m² Central Plaza with J.V. Tierney & Co acting as Mechanical, Electrical, and Sustainable Design Engineers. The development includes the extension and refurbishment of the 8-storey Central Bank tower as well as adjoining properties 6-8 College Green and the Annex building on Dame Street. The new design features a striking glazed roof with a bold outline and dynamic styling.

The project will see the transformation of the former Central Bank of Ireland tower into a two-tier meeting hub for Dublin City’s modern generation of workers, shoppers, and diners. With a stylish new look and an increased socioeconomic standing, the Central Plaza redevelopment will enhance what is already an iconic city square in the heart of Dublin.

The achievement of LEED Gold Standard and BER A3 certification were highly prioritised throughout the design process in line with our client’s Climate Action Plan and JV Tierney’s commitment to energy efficiency, decarbonisation, and climate mitigation.

The LEED Certification process is now complete with the building receiving it’s official Gold status, a notable achievement that recognises the coordinated efforts and shared sustainability goals of the whole design team.

J.V Tierney are proud to be involved in this prestigious collaboration between Henry J Lyons Architects, Hines/Peterson Group, VICI Project Management, and all members of the design and construction teams.
